Ongolo is nestled into the countryside at the foothills of the Bismark Berg, only a five minute drive from Namibia’s Hosea Kutako International airport.

Previously known as ‘Farm Sonnleiten - Guest House and Auto Lodge’, this family owned and operated farm has been welcoming travellers to Namibia since the early 2000’s.

Due to its proximity to the airport as well as the countries capital, Windhoek, the farm has become a popular destination for many visitors, serving as their first and last stop in Namibia. There simply is no better way to start and end a trip to Namibia than being completely immersed in the bush within five minutes after arrival and before departure.

This popularity has also been achieved thanks to the fantastic hospitality offered by the Giel family and their team. Having travelled the world extensively themselves, they understand the needs and desires of their guests very well, and being local to the area means that they know just how to provide the best attention and service to their visitors.

In early 2023, the name of the farm was then changed to Ongolo. The changes did not stop at the name though, and exciting new developments are now taking shape at the farm, all focused on creating an even better experience for their guests.

Some of these include new accommodations and campsites. More experiences and activities are also being added.
Another large change that is happening is the development of ecologically responsible operations and infrastructure, as well as multiple regenerative practices being implemented in the food production systems on the farm.
